Exercise And Weight Loss Myths
Getting fit and losing weight requires hard work and exercise. When you begin any weight loss program that involves exercise, you will find that there are plenty of promises, warnings, and pieces of advice, but much of these are untrue. Here are five of the most common exercise myths.
1. Pain Leads to Gain
This is an older myth. People tend to believe that the more unpleasant the effects of a workout are, the more they will benefit you. This belief can lead to anything from soreness to incapacitating injury, both of which will just leave you where you started. Most effective workouts will leave you a little sore afterwards, but if you are in pain, see a doctor. The best bet is to take your workouts at a pace that you can handle to avoid injuries. This will ensure, not only your safety, but also enable you to stick to your weight loss plan.
2. Lifting Weights = Bulky Muscles in Women
You may have seen pictures of female body builders. They usually have bulging biceps, extremely defined abdominal muscles, and sometimes protruding veins. In short, they can look masculine, and this effect can turn away other women who want to train with weights. The good news is that it simply is not possible for a woman to bulk up like a man. To achieve bulky muscles, a woman usually will consume muscle building compounds or chemicals and work out more than once a day. Women should feel free to take advantage of the benefits that come with weight lifting, because they will only tone up.
3. Exercise Means Extra Calories to Spend
It is easy to believe that if you have had a good, strenuous workout, you can eat whatever you want for lunch or dinner. However, eating a high-calorie meal after exercising just replaces the calories that you burned. To lose a pound, you have to burn 3500 calories. Your body may be getting fitter, but you may not be losing pounds or losing weight. In addition to exercising, you need to eat healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, and lean protein.
4. Lose Fifteen Pounds in One Day!
This may be possible, but most people who resort to quick weight loss programs also very quickly will usually gain it back. Because fast weight loss is often achieved by drastically reducing calories, reintroducing the same amount of food means that the body will hold onto the calories that it was missing before, and weight gain will occur. If you want to lose weight, eat healthy and exercise. The weight may take longer to come off, but it will also be less likely to return.
5. The Gym is Your Only Hope
Many people join gyms because of the structure and atmosphere that a gym provides. There are expensive machines, good classes, and trainers available at gyms that can help you stay on track. But if you are just going to the gym to use the equipment, why not save money and make a gym at home? You do not have to have a treadmill and weight machines. There are many aerobic workouts that you can do at home, and you can always purchase dumbbells to use. Buy some good walking shoes or a jump rope to take full advantage of the benefits of these exercises and lose pounds.
Exercise myths will probably always be around, but by informing yourself and carefully looking at your weight loss plan, you can ensure you are making the right healthy choices. The key is healthy eating and exercise. You will benefit from your lifestyle change in much more ways than weight loss.

3 Crash Dieting Tips
You have probably done a crash diet if you have ever planned on attending a class reunion, wedding, spring break, or any number of other occasions. This article will give you a rundown of crash dieting and a few tips to help you.
Crash dieting is when you are looking to lose weight in a relatively short amount of time. As mentioned, weddings, class reunions, and spring break are just a few examples of times when people want to lose weight fast. When losing weight in a short period of time it is important that you do it correctly, so below are tips to help you.
1. Water consumption is important when completing a crash diet. Water helps the kidneys eliminate fluid, which helps prevent fluid retention. It also prevents your urine from becoming too concentrated which is potentially dangerous.
So, how much water should you consume on a daily basis? The answer is no less than 64 ounces, which is the equivalent of 8 full glasses of water per day.
It is important that you spread the water out throughout the day and stop drinking about 2 to 3 hours before bedtime.
2. Most people you do crash diets only do it so they can lose some weight before their event and then quit shortly after. The problem with this is those people will not only gain back the weight they lost, but most likely will gain more weight.
In order to fight this, you need to make sure that if you choose to not continue dieting, you ease yourself off the diet and workout for a short period of time after. For instance, if the diet you are doing features a low intake of carbs, you need to add carbs back to your diet slowly, not all at once.
Also working out is important after you quit as well as when you are dieting. It may be hard to find time to work out if you have a busy schedule, but even 20 minutes a day of cardio workout will help you keep the pounds you lost off for good.
3. The last tip is to avoid diet pills. Diet pills are seen as a good way to lose weight fast, but the pills come with side effects such as nervousness, excessive sweating, irritability, and dry mouth, all of which are bad. The short term effects of diet pills may seem good, but the side effects are serious.
When trying to lose weight fast, a crash diet can be an effective way in dropping a few pounds in a short time. However, make sure that the crash diet you choose is safe. You should be able to find a safe crash dieting system if you follow the tip is in this article.

The 20 Most Stupid Ways to Lose Weight
The following are my top 20 most STUPID ways to lose weight. There is no order of importance, as I consider them all to be just plain stupid. You may have a different opinion.
Crash dieting
Only eating ‘diet foods’
Dehydration
Slimming pills
Liposuction
Smoking
Coffee
Starvation
Cellophane
Extreme exercise regime
Saunas
One meal a day
Laxatives
Making yourself sick
Gastric bands
Body wraps
Body creams
Herbal slimming teas
Avoiding all fat
Weird diets
These methods of losing weight focus on weight, and not on fat loss. Adopting these methods is likely to be fuelled by fear and the desire for a quick fix.
This list is much longer than I would like, but all of these methods are more commonplace than you might think – I have met people who have tried each of these methods.
1. Crash dieting – A crash diet is where you consume less calories than your body needs just to survive (your resting metabolic rate). By eating less than this amount of calories your metabolism can slow right down and your body hold onto fat. Eating less than 1000 calories a day would definitely constitute crash dieting.
2. Starvation – Some people think by avoiding all food they will lose weight fast. By adopting this approach they do lose weight fast, but water and muscle weight. The body will hold onto fat as it registers nutritional stress.
3. Weird diets- Some diets are extremely unhealthy and are not likely to promote weight loss in the longer term. Reasons for this include severe nutritional deficiencies, the wrong balance of macronutrients (fats, carbohydrates, and proteins), highly processed, or too low in calories. Also, diets which do not teach you about good longer term eating habits are poor, as when you come off the diet and start to eat ‘normally’ the weight will creep back on. Extremely poor diets include the Cabbage Soup Diet, Herbalife shakes, Slimfast shakes, or the Lemonade Diet.
4. Only eating ‘diet foods’ – Diet foods are foods described as ‘low fat’, ‘low calorie’, ‘fat free’, or ‘light’. Diet foods include diet yoghurts, Diet Coke, and Weightwatchers meals. To enhance the taste, artificial flavourings, refined sugar, artificial sweeteners, or salt can be added to these foods. This means they can end up unhealthier than the regular full-fat version. There is no reason to eat diet foods, you can lose weight and still eat the regular full-fat versions, just in smaller amounts.
5. Avoiding all fat in your diet – Fat is essential to our bodies and we need fat in our diet: fat is essential to the brain, building cell membranes, keeping the heart beating regularly, slowing down digestion, to absorb nutrients, and protecting our vital organs. Fat can help weight loss by keeping you feeling fuller longer and more satisfied. By consuming some fat with your meals, you won’t tend to crave something sweet or be hungry for a second helping, as the fat keeps you content.
6. Only eating one meal a day – There is a common misconception that by only eating one meal a day, usually the evening meal, you will lose weight fast. The reality is that people who eat only one meal a day tend to be fatter than people who eat at least three meals a day. These people tend to eat more calories at their one meal than others eat all day. Their metabolism tends to be slower as well as their bodies switch to fat storage mode.
7. Training with cellophane round your body- This might sound incredibly stupid, but I have seen people in the gym training with a layer of cellophane wrapped round their bodies. They believe that by exercising with the cellophane it will encourage their body to burn more calories as they sweat more. However, the additional sweat leads to loss of water, not fat.
8. Extreme exercise regime – Too much exercise can be counterproductive when you are looking to lose weight as it can raise your stress hormones to the point where your body starts to hold onto body fat. Everyone can handle different amounts of extreme exercise, depending upon their stress load. Extreme exercise includes long runs, boot camps, and triathlons.
9. Dehydrating your body – Dehydrating your body will reduce your weight, but not your body fat as you lose water weight only. Your body is composed of approximate 65% water. It is the main component of all the blood in your body, it is vital for oxygen transportation to all your muscles and organs, and plays the leading role in regulating your body temperature. Water also acts as a lubricant for all your joints and as a cushion for your vital organs.
10. Drinking lots of coffee – Some people drink lots of coffee because they think it increases their metabolism, which speeds up their fat loss efforts. However the opposite is more likely. Caffeine contributes to insulin resistance which can lead to increased appetite and food cravings.
11. Saunas – Some people frequent saunas as a means of losing body weight. These people will lose weight immediately after the sauna, as they have lost water weight. However after drinking a few glasses of water their weight will be back to normal.
12. Smoking – Smoking decreases the appetite, so some people smoke with a view to losing or maintaining their weight. However, people who smoke can be more malnourished as smoking acts an anti-nutrient. This means your body needs to consume more nutrients from the food you eat. The health implications of smoking are serious, and not worth losing a few pounds of weight over.
13. Making yourself sick – Some people make themselves sick when they feel they have eaten too much food. However, after making themselves sick they can be hungry, leading to cravings for sweets, chocolate, chips, biscuits and other high calorie snacks. In the long term their body weight can increase because of the constant snacking of high calories foods.
14. Laxative abuse – Using laxatives is an unsatisfactory way of losing weight as by the time the laxatives work in the large intestine most foods and calories have been absorbed by the small intestine. The use of laxatives causes the loss of water, minerals, fibre, and waste. The water weight returns as soon as you drink the next drink. There can be serious health consequences of laxative abuse.
15. Herbal slimming teas -Some people buy herbal-based slimming teas which make outrageous claims about how much weight you will lose by drinking them. However, the main ingredient in these teas is likely to be caffeine or guarana. This in turn acts as a diuretic and leads to water loss.
16. Slimming pills – This is the ultimate miracle cure, a pill you take which will lead to weight loss. These pills include fat blockers, carbohydrate blockers, and appetite suppressants. However, none of the pills will work if you are eating poorly, and the side effects can be significant.
17. Body creams -Another dubious product on the market is the slimming body cream. It sounds a very nice idea, by simply rubbing the cream on your body your fat will instantly melt away, but there is no evidence to suggest these creams work.
18. Liposuction – People who have liposuction will lose body fat but they are putting themselves at risk from undergoing surgery, and by not making any changes to their lifestyle post surgery the weight can creep back on.
19. Gastric bands – A gastric band restricts the size of the stomach, limiting the amount of food that you can eat at once. The gastric band does help you to eat smaller amounts, but it does not stop you from eating high calorie foods or snacking constantly.
20. Mineral body wrap treatments -A very popular beauty treatment is to have a mineral body wrap or mask applied to your body. You can lose inches from this treatment, but the loss is short-lived as the inch loss is merely water weight.

Gastric Band Operations is Not The Safest Way to Lose Weight Says Well Known Health Expert
Weight Loss Hypnotherapy is the answer to safe and guaranteed weight loss, UK expert has claimed. Are Gastric Bands the Celebrity Culture to lose weight the safest way to become your ideal weight, No! According to the well known Health and Weight Loss Hypnotherapy Expert Claire Hegarty who gives her clients 100% guarantee they will lose weight with Gastric Band Hypnotherapy.
The public interest in Gastric Bands has increased with Celebrity Admissions such as Fern Cotton whom have publicly admitted they have used this procedure to lose weight, but is the procedure 100% safe, the answer is no!
Not only has this procedure caused discomfort with patients but it has also claimed the lives of Gastric band patients including the life of Bernadette Reid, Suzanne Murphy 29, and Marilyn Wardrop 54, to name a few and one life loss to an invasive procedure is one life to many says Claire Hegarty who presents her own Health Radio show.
With the celebrity culture of looking like a size 0 and wanting to look like their idols on Television and copying their favourite celebrities who have had the gastric procedure successfully done, people do not investigate the downside of gastric band procedures which includes the fact that people have died.
People are to quick to look at the Gastric Band operations as a solution without doing their research of looking into alternative ways of losing weight which includes spending time with their GP and specially trained nurses in weight loss at their local surgery and going down the Hypnotherapy Route to Lose Weight and speaking to their local Health Clubs for advice. With all procedures that are not life threatening, you should do your research says Claire Hegarty.
The Gastric Band procedure is now widely available in the private sector and people are failing to research the private clinic to see how successful they have been and if their patients have been happy with the procedure and service. No one likes to talk about death, but this is something that needs looking into when thinking about undertaking this procedure with a private clinic. You need to research the clinic like you would if you were going to undertake a breast enlargement or facial cosmetic surgery procedure and find out if any patients have died through the clinic performing gastric band surgery and if their previous clients were happy with the procedure and the care that they had received.
There is a range of post-operative problems reported with gastric bands, and patients can experience one or more of the following symptoms:
Nausea and vomiting
Reflux or regurgitation of food
Slipped band
Obstruction or blockage
Constipation
Diarrhoea
Difficulty swallowing
If these complications cause you serious discomfort your band may need to be adjusted or removed. This involves further surgery, exposing you to all the associated risks once again.
The Gastric Band can also slip, this causes the lower part of the stomach to swell over the band and become an obstruction. There can also be mechanical problems, such as leakage of the saline that fills the band, or cracking of the tube between the band and the reservoir. In these cases the band will need to be removed and replaced involving more surgery all in the name of losing weight through surgery.
What people also fail to understand is, as well as the medical complications that can happen and are listed above, there can also be physical problems. In some rare cases, the Gastric band can erode into the stomach wall and migrate into the stomach, sounds nasty, it is.
Some people turn to Gastric Bands as a quick fix because they do not want to put the in the effort of losing weight, others turn to this procedure because they have tried diets that do not work for them and they feel that the Gastric Band procedure is their last resort and others turn to the Gastric Procedure due to people’s perception of them because of their weight as well as other people who turn to this procedure due to Bullying which includes Suzanne Murphy 29 who died of undertaking the gastric band procedure after taking the drastic steps to stop her son being bullied due to her not being Size 0.
So what alternative ways are there out there to lose weight, well as mentioned you can speak to your GP says Claire Hegarty and medical staff at your local Health Clinic and talk about Diets that are right for you, or you can look into using Hypnotherapy which is very successful and does not involve any surgery.
Hypnosis can help by allowing you to overcome unconscious obstacles, which prevent you from losing weight and from keeping weight off after a successful diet. You know that eating too much is not what you desire and you know that exercise and sensible diet are important. However, these are not conscious, logical issues. Successful weight loss is as much about re-educating your unconscious mind as it is about dieting. Hypnosis is one of the most natural ways to lose weight.
You can also speak to your local Gym about devising you a routine to exercise to help you lose weight but the Gastric Band procedure must be your last option says Claire Hegarty.
For many who go through the gastric band procedure, even if they do lose the weight they wanted, the mental battle with food is still there; again this is where hypnotherapy can add to the benefits of losing weight as you can
learn how to change your relationship with food and yourself therefore
stopping the battle and mental tortures you may have preciously endured.

4 Easy & Special Dieting Tips From The Pros
Article by Peter Wellington
Here’s a little secret, well not really a secret unless you’ve been on another planet for the past few decades: dieting and health and fitness are big business and I mean mega industry scale.
The fact is that the fuel for this industry comes from the likes of you and me. In some, seemingly innocuous and conniving way we part with out hard earned Mazola in order to obtain the perfect body form and all in the name of beauty.
Look, you can get that body beautiful without breaking the bank and getting into heaps of debt and without taking a stroll along insolvency street. I’ll share three special dieting tips that won’t cost you a dime, three dieting tips as recommended by the experts!
Special Dieting Tips #1 – Water, Water Everywhere
How simple can these dieting tips get? Simply make sure that you drink at least 8 glasses of water each and every day. Make drinking water a part of your lifestyle and it doesn’t matter what dieting programme you’re currently following – drink that water and enjoy life’s simple pleasure.
Many dieters find drinking 8 glasses of water a problem. By the time you’ve gotten through glass number 2 you still have 6 more to finish. Well psychologically it’s easier to finish something than to have 7 more glasses of something.
Try filling a 64 once water pitcher first thing in the morning, fill it with ice and store it in a cooler. Your mission for the day, should you chose to accept it is to empty that jug by the time you go bed in the night.
Just consider the other advantageous side effect of an adequate intake of H2O: your skin will begin to visibly glow and your body will receive an all-over detox. Moreover, those who suffer with an over production of gut acid will benefit as stomach juices are minimalized.
Special Dieting Tips #2 – Lemon in the Morning
This is another well known, tried and tested dieting tip: take a full glass full of warm lemon water as soon as you get up in the morning. Using a microwave safe mug, warm the fresh water for about one minute. Then, simply add a teaspoon or two of fresh squeezed or bottled lemon juice. The fresh will always have a better flavour.
If you want to increase your metabolism further then try adding a teaspoon of honey.
Remember that the secret here is that the water should be warm and not cold. Cold water will simply not work for this trick.
You’ll find something else happening as you go through this routine each morning: your body will receive a morning revelle; the bugle call that reminds the body of your intention to get fit and healthy. Try this simple dieting tip for yourself and see the difference it’ll make in just a short time.
Special Dieting Tips #3 – Consistent Weigh Ins
By this I mean always have your weigh in at the same time of day each and every day and always use the same scale. Just put two scales side-by-side and you’ll see what I mean.
Any way, don’t weigh each and every day. This is a sure fire way of discouraging yourself. Most experts will recommend weekly or fortnightly weigh-ins, that’s plenty for anybody. However, aim for the same day each time. A midweek day is best then you have two days to burn of those indulgences from the weekend.
Also you may find it better to weigh yourself first thing on the morning so you don’t have the excuse of blaming the results on anything you had for breakfast. Weigh yourself in the same kind of clothes; pyjamas for instance and chart down the figure, whatever it is.
Special Dieting Tips #4 – give yourself a day off
This has to be the best dieting tip that I’ve ever come across and the one that makes the greatest sense. When you consider that the most difficult aspect of dieting is the mental attitude towards food. You are trying to beat your flesh and in this respect you’ll find that you fail most of the time. You see your mind wants to be in control yet it’s in a battle against your body. “The spirit is willing but the body is weak.”
My most successful weight loss has come when I only aim to diet 6 days out of every seven. In other words, one day per week, whatever day is most suitable for you, you are not on a diet.
This is an enormous boost to your will power and self esteem. When you embark on a diet you’re in a constant battle and whenever you fail you take a trip on the roller coaster of guilt. When you have a weekly day off a diet is much easier to maintain for a prolonged period and you do away with the guilt. You’re on a win – win roundabout.

What to Consider When Choosing a Weight Loss Center?
If you are interested in losing weight, you may have thought about joining a weight loss center. Weight loss centers are often used to describe weight loss programs that are locally operated.
If this is your first time looking to join a weight loss center, you may be unsure as to what you should look for in one. An important part of joining a weight loss center is finding the weight loss center that is perfect for you and your own personal needs. For that reason, there are a number of factors, which are outlined below, that you will want to take into consideration.
One of the many factors that you will want to take into consideration, when looking for a weight loss center to join, is the location. With gas prices high, many individuals find it difficult to travel long distances. You will have to pay money to become a member at a weight loss center; therefore, you should be careful about adding on extra costs, like the cost of gasoline, to your membership. If, at all possible, you should look for weight loss centers that are conveniently located either close to your home or your place of business.
Speaking of costs, as previously mentioned, you will have to pay to become a member of a weight loss center. This cost will vary depending on the weight loss center in question. On average, most weight loss center memberships are around twenty or thirty dollars a month. With that in mind, it is possible to find weight loss centers that cost more money. If you are on a budget, a weight loss center membership fee may have an impact on the weight loss center that you chose to become a member at.
Although it is important to find a weight loss center that you can afford, you don’t want to have your decision be based solely on costs. You will want to take the time to examine each weight loss center that you come across. For instance, you should be able to find some weight loss centers that only have weekly or monthly meetings or weigh-ins for members to attend. On the other hand, there are weight loss centers that may have exercise classes or a fitness gym, which you should gain access to as a member. If you are able to find a quality weight loss center or one that comes highly rated and recommend, higher membership fees may be worth it.
When looking to find the perfect weight loss center for you and your needs, it may be a good idea to do a little bit of research. With the internet, it is easy to review a company or a program, like a weight loss program. With a standard internet search, preferably with the name of the weight loss center in question, you should be able to come across program reviews or online discussions. Research is not only a great way to find weight loss centers that have great reviews, but it is also a great way to learn of any weight loss centers that you should avoid or ones that are known for not being worth the costs.
The above mentioned factors are just a few of the many that you will want to take into consideration, when looking to find a weight loss center to join. Although many weight loss centers come highly rated and recommended, it is important to find the weight loss center that can best fit you and your needs.

So now it’s time to walk the talk. How can you lose weight quickly, yet safely? You know about the food groups, proper nutrition and a balanced diet, but somehow when it gets right down to doing it, you get sort of a panicky feeling. “Can I really do it?” The answer is a resounding yes! Losing weight quickly is easy, but doing it safely requires a little more thought. Check out these simple tips and achieve your goal with ease. see this site; rcprinter5.fatsecret.hop.clickbank.net/
So your anniversary is coming up in March or your vacation plans include a bikini. In either case, you want to feel as good as you look. Losing weight quickly could be as simple as not eating, but you know that’s not a good solution. You’ll lose the weight, but you’ll feel the worse for wear and your good looks will suffer. That’s not a winning plan. Losing weight quickly and well requires a disciplined approach to the calories you consume, with an eagle eye on the nutrients contained in those foods. Check this out; rcprinter5.fatsecret.hop.clickbank.net/
Fruits and veggies come so highly recommended, as well they should be. These foods are loaded with vitamins and minerals, antioxidants and fiber. What more could a dieter ask? Breakfast can consist of a fruit smoothie, a filling concoction with all the virtues of fruits, topped off with calcium from the milk or yogurt part of this delightful beverage. When you add up the calories, they’re very few. However, you’re full until lunch.
Make salad your best lunch friend. Again, losing weight quickly does take discipline, but it needn’t be torture. Load that salad plate up with fresh, crisp greens and your favorite salad veggies. Get some protein on that plate. Doesn’t thin, grilled slices of chicken breast sound good? Get out your calorie counter and do the addition. It’s a good deal. When you’re dieting, it’s best to eat light for dinner. It’s not likely you’re going out after eating and burning off calories. You’ll sleep better on a light meal anyway. Broil a small portion of lean meat for a first course. Have a couple of slices of cheese and a piece of fruit for the second course. Kick back for a few minutes, then fix yourself a cup of cocoa and call it a night. The warm milk will help you sleep. You’ve had a whole day of nutritious foods that help build your body’s strength, but the calorie intake has been minimal.More info; rcprinter5.fatsecret.hop.clickbank.net/

Don’t let the TV ads convince you to buy some bulky contraption that will gather dust in your closet, crunches are safe and effective! This video clip shows how to do crunches with varying degrees of difficulty based on your ability. Remember that ab exercises alone will not give you abs! If you have the best abs in the world they will be completely invisible if you are overweight. Aerobic exercise and proper diet are even more important than ab exercises in getting that sought after 6-pack. Form is very important in crunches, many people do them incorrectly and end up working out their neck or hips more than their abs. Use slow movements and only use the abs. Concentrate on trying to raise your shoulders straight up towards the ceiling. Don’t worry about how many reps you do but focus on using perfect form. No whipping the head around or flapping your arms! This is not a sit-up either, the hips are stationary. Also important is to minimize any tension in the neck, I do this by very lightly supporting my head with my hands or the weight plate The main reason to workout abs is because strong abs stabilize your lower back and shield you from injury but as a side benefit a 6-pack looks great! You can ask me questions on my facebook page: www.facebook.com For more ab exercises: scoobysworkshop.com Nutrition is key to getting abs! I cover the nutrition basics on my website, if thats not detailed enough for you I have reviewed and recommended some excellent books …

weight loss
I want to introduce you to a powerful tenet which gives rise to whatever it is you’re trying to achieve with your body is not external, yet contained within your mind. The key to losing weight is determined by how you attach meaning to it – the thoughts and emotions associated with it. Weight loss implies removing something unwanted or undesirable i.e. excess body fat. What if we re-framed it in our minds as an expression which affirms the following instead; allowing our body to return or ‘be’ in its natural state of health and wellbeing. How would that allow us to feel from an emotional level?
You see the term weight loss has a resistance to it, much like ‘rally against war.’ I stand for peace is much more harmonious and in tune with higher states of consciousness. Weight loss implies you haven’t achieved it yet, it is outside of your consciousness and a challenge to achieve.
Your natural state of health and wellbeing is a body weight that is normal to you. You don’t need diets, pills, formulas and whatever else the media is selling you to lose weight.
Fact 1: The power of drug companies has grown exponentially. They now fund about two-thirds of clinical studies and medical journals have increasingly become marketing devices for new products and diagnoses.
Fact 2: Studies by industry are subtly funded to give positive results. The same research will be published again and again in different journals, with minor variations, to give the impression of a unanimous acceptance and weight of evidence.
So what can you do to change the relationship and conversation you have with yourself around body weight issues?
1. Throw away all your dieting books NOW.
2. There is no problem, just an imbalance in one’s thoughts and emotions.
3. Go within to discover the cause of your current weight issues. Is there an outdated belief, thought or emotion which is holding you back? If so, when did it start? Go within and take a introspective journey to discover the cause. We often attach meaning to things which no longer serve us.
4. Be grateful that you live in a Western world and have access to food. Approximately 3 billion people live below .50 a day, which is considered the poverty line.
5. Re-frame how you approach weight loss in your mind and your body will follow.
6. Appreciate your body right now, regardless of shape, size, colour, height, weight. If you dislike or hate your body, you’re sending subconscious messages to every cell in your body to work against you, not in harmony with you. Why would your body want you to lose weight when you’re telling it I hate you, I don’t like what I see in the mirror?
7. Develop a relationship with your body as mentioned in previous article.
A well known author versed in the area of mind body medicine states the following about weight loss: “Health is not an event. It is a process. It is not a rock, but rather a river. Lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise can address systematic problems, but involve a change in life-process day after day. Weight loss isn’t going on a diet (an event), or being twenty pounds lighter (an event). Weight loss is what I eat and how I exercise today and always (a process).
The more you come from a place of non-resistance, the more your body recognises your willingness to grow and expand toward health and wellbeing. Remember this for it will serve you well – your health and wellbeing is a journey, never a destination. It is more about WHO you become, more than WHAT you become. It is for this reason I affirm health, wellbeing and healing is more about awakening your authentic self, using personal development, self awareness and spirituality. With these tools in hand, you become someone worthy of living a rich, health and prosperous life; without having to fall back to their former self.

10 Tips to Beating Your Food Cravings
Craving food is normal, especially when you are dieting or following a weight loss plan. Sometimes, you may even be craving something that you need and may be deficient in, such as a mineral. Just because you crave something unhealthy does not mean that you have to give in to those cravings, though. By following these ten tips, you can overcome your cravings and stay on track to lose weight.
1. Water
The human body needs hydration. If you are craving something cold (and often sweet) like soda or ice cream, then you may need to drink water. You may find, when you are craving a bottle of soda, that a drink of water may calm your craving for soda or fruit juice. Listen to your body, be sensitive to hydration, and drink water when you are thirsty.
2. Protein Power
Salads are healthy, but a bowl of lettuce will not keep you full for an afternoon. Hunger can lead to cravings, so you might try adding some lean protein to your salad. Soybeans, tofu, chicken, and beef are all things that you can add to your vegetable dish to boost energy, brain power and lose weight. They add protein to your meal that will keep you full longer, helping you avoid junk food.
3. Sleep
If you get less sleep at night, chances are you will eat unhealthy foods the next day. Without sleep, the body craves energy and will try to get it from food, which is not ideal for anyone on a weight loss diet. To avoid this problem, get 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night.
4. Bored?
It is very easy to convince yourself that you are hungry when you are just bored. The remedy for this particular problem is to find something to do that you enjoy. Keeping your mind focused on something else or going outside are all things that can help distract you and enable you to shed pounds.
5. Clean Teeth
The feeling of cleanliness after you brush your teeth can deter you from eating junk. You should brush after every meal, especially if you are craving dessert. This keeps your teeth clean and healthy, but will keep you from eating sugary sweets or salty snacks.
6. Fruit
Fruit usually has a lot of water in it, and it absorbs water. Both of these facts mean that eating a piece of fruit can help you feel full. Not only does it make you full, it provides nutrients and can help you lose pounds. Good fruits to reach for when you are craving something are apples, grapes, or oranges, because they all have very high water content.
7. Exercise
Exercising when you are craving food does not necessarily mean that you have to engage in something strenuous. Even a brisk walk can help you feel healthier, making you unwilling to put junk food into your body. Try taking a walk around the block or taking your pet for a short jaunt.
8. Eat Naturally
Most “diet” foods are heavily processed, and will do you no more good than eating a cupcake. You would be better off eating carrots, celery, fruit, or something with lean protein, like nuts. Natural foods do not have to be organic, just whole and close to their natural state.
9. Fiber
Fiber has recently become more popular, and for good reason. Fiber absorbs water and expands. In addition, it is not digested by your stomach, so foods with a lot of fiber in them take longer to digest, helping you stay full longer. Eating very fibrous food will prevent cravings, help you stick to your diet and will be beneficial to your digestive tract.
10. Find a New Hobby
Taking classes in something new, like ceramics or ballet, will help you keep your mind on the new activity and off your cravings. Even trying a new exercise, like running, may make you less willing to put junk in your body and help you to avoid the bad stuff.
Cravings are inevitable, but giving in to them is not. With these tips you can stave off cravings and improve your health.
